Trend seem to have become a bit stale in the antivirus market industry. This version doesn't seem that different from previous versions.

"Another Great Year for Trend"
by guyfriday on September 15, 2008
Pros: With the introduction of this year's verions, Trend Micro Internet Security v17 is a big step forward. It's leaner (smaller download file size), uses less resource memory (~30% less) and installs more quickly/easier then previous versions.

Cons: Trend could beef up its tuning tools, such as registry cleaner. Although it does the job (mostly), a disk optimizer would be a nice to have.

Summary: Not that much new in terms of features, but then v2008 covered the Internet security ground so well, I don't know what more one would need.

Internet surfing made easy
I heard that even with a pop up or by surfing a web page you can get spyware threats.
Earlier internet surfing or downloading anything had a high risk to get spyware or malware.. I had to be prepared to remove them as soon as are installed in my PC. THANKS to search-and-destroy it constantly updates its database of spyware signatures and definitions.

This product is a pretty good one for screening viruses, etc. I like the little window that pops up if the website I am viewing might be at all suspect to a dangerous site. The only disappointment was that I bought this with the understanding that there was a $40 rebate. I used the rebate form through the link on Amazon...the rebate was denied, saying I used the wrong form/UPC. I ended up only getting $20 as a rebate, so beware. Otherwise, a good product overall.

Bought the product due to review from Consumer Report. Easy to Install. Work as expected. Had to uninstall Norton, unable to remove the status window which is a pain... thumbs down on Norton!
