Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 Review by Tom, October 6, 2008
I used to have Norton. As the years went on, Norton turned into second rate anti-virus protection. So I decided to try Kaspersky. I’m very happy with it. I run Windows XP with 1GB of memory on an HP and have had zero issues – once I got it installed properly.
First, you should absolutely positively run the Kaspersky GSI Tool BEFORE you install their software. It will tell you what software you have on your machine that may interfere with Kaspersky. The install instructions in the box do not tell you this. I learned the hard way.
Second, check the Kaspersky support forums at forum.kaspersky.com if you have any questions BEFORE you install the software. There’s lots of information in the forums that I found useful – such as interactions between the free Comodo firewall and Kaspersky. However, like all support forums, double check all answers you are provided. (They told me that my printer driver was malware and that I should uninstall it. Luckily, I knew better.)
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 Review by Tim, October 6, 2008
Immediately I was impressed with an install that was flawless. Two other Anti-V products I had recently resulted in failed installs and did not utilize them. Also the product runs without my interactions and going well to date. I can see that virus definition updates are occuring at the task bar, not effecting my main screen.

Free scan
I did a free scan using http://www.search-and-destroy.com which found out several trojans stalling my computer and reading my data. Now I don’t have any complains….you too try this software….it really helps.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0 Review by Mistine, October 22, 2008
After a series of frustrations with Norton Antivirus I resolved to search for a better alternative. I noticed that Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0 was well regarded by the user community, so I decided to make the switch to 7.0 when I purchased my new computer.
Kaspersky has far exceeded my expectations. I experienced no problems whatever with installation–no other antivirus programs had been installed since this was a new computer. Moreover, I found the program to be readily adaptable to my needs as a user. Most important, Kaspersky allowed me to set the level of intrusion that I wanted rather than to simply tolerate too high a level, which is clearly undesirable. I particularly liked the feature that allows you to set the update at a time that is suitable for you. (I chose daily at 7:30 AM rather than hourly.) I also liked the backup disk feature, which is easy to use and essential for system recovery. All of these capabilities are documented in the well-written, 67 page User’s Guide. The crucial point to see is that Kaspersky gives you more choice and more control than has usually been the case.
In short, I highly recommend this product to anyone seeking an improved, nicely behaved, and easily customized antivirus program. Kaspersky 7.0 is an outright winner among the alternatives that I am aware of.
